Emma Nedov

Nedov started her gymnastics career at the Epping YMCA and then trained at the Sydney Gymnastic and Aquatic Centre with coaches Darren Webster and Zheng in 2013, she has since moved to Melbourne to train at the National Centre of Excellence, with coaches Mikhail (Misha) Barabach and Tracey Penaluna, alongside Australian Team members Georgia-Rose Brown and Mary-Anne Monckton.

After a successful year in 2011 as a junior both nationally and internationally, Nedov returned to senior competition in 2013, winning gold on Beam at the Australian Championships, and returning to win silver on the same apparatus in 2014.

In 2013, she placed second on Beam at the international Dityatim Cup event in Russia, and in 2014, competed at the WOGA Classic in the USA.

Making her World Championships debut in 2014, Nedov was a member of the Australian team which made the teams’ final, finishing 11thon the Beam, and was the first reserve for the Beam final.

After the 2015 National Championships, Emma headed to South Korea for the World University Games where she qualified for the All around final and Beam final. In the All around Emma scored a career high of 53.064. Unfortunately she just fell short of the medals in the Beam final, finishing 5th.

Nedov was one of the Australia team members that was selected to compete at the 2016 Pacific Rim Championships as well as the 2016 Aquece Rio Olympic Test Event where the team placed 5th overall.

Early 2017 saw impressive performances from Emma at three international World Cups, one hosted on home turf. Nedov comepted on her pet apparatus, Beam where she wowed the crowd with her elegance placing fifth at the World Cup Gymnastics in Melbourne, sixth at the AGF Trophy event in Baku and 7th at the Doha World Cup Gymnastics.
